Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery during Ching Ming Festival

Because a large number of grave sweepers will go to Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery during the Ching Ming Festival, special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on the roads in the vicinity to safeguard public safety.

A Transport Department spokesman said that the road closure measures for this Ching Ming Festival would be similar to previous arrangements. The access road leading to the cemetery will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except emergency vehicles, from 5.30am to 8pm on the day of Ching Ming Festival and all Sundays between March 13 and April 10 (6 days).

In addition, a general road closure will be implemented on March 12, 19, 25, 26 and 28, April 2, 9, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 30, and May 1 from 5.30 am to 6pm. All vehicles except KMB special bus Route No. 14S, emergency vehicles, hearses, vehicles in funeral processions and vehicles possessing permit issued by that cemetery are prohibited from using the access road leading to the cemetery. KMB's special bus will provide service between 7am and 5.25pm and ply between Lei Yue Mun Road, Yau Tong and the cemetery.

The spokesman appealed to people to make full use of public transport, avoid visiting the cemetery on busy days and follow the instructions of the Police and other personnel on duty. Passengers wishing to take KMB Route No. 14S are advised to be aware of the dates of above general road closure.
