Allow more time for boundary crossing

The Transport Department (TD) has reminded cross boundary travellers today that more passengers are expected to use the cross-boundary coach services operating via Lok Ma Chau (LMC) and Huanggang control points from this afternoon (August 27).

During the busy periods, passengers - particularly those using popular routes like Mong Kok and Tsuen Wan - may need to wait longer for the coach and to queue for boarding. They are reminded to be patient and allow more time to travel.

In addition, passengers are advised to plan their journey in advance and consider using other alternative transport services to travel to and from the Mainland to avoid the crowds.

The department has asked the coach service operators to mobilise additional resources to meet sudden surge in demand. At the same time, the Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre as well as the Joint Operation Centre at LMC will be activated to monitor the operations and to respond to contingencies.
