Traffic normal at Prince Edward Road East

Traffic was normal at Prince Edward Road East near King Tai Street, where two lanes were closed due to fallen scaffoldings.

An additional traffic lane converted from an opposite bound lane was added to alleviate the traffic shortly before 5 pm, the evening peak.

Commissioner for Transport, Mr Robert Footman, inspected the works site this afternoon at 5.30 pm to see for himself how the "contra-flow" system worked.

Mr Footman reminded motorists to drive with care when passing this special traffic lane.  The lane would convert back to normal when all the original four lanes were open to traffic.
