Closure of Shek Kip Mei Street in Sham Shui Po

    The Transport Department announced today (July 15) that the northbound carriageway of Shek Kip Mei Street in the section between Berwick Street and Woh Chai Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 10am on Sunday (July 17) to 1am the next day (July 18) to facilitate road works in Sham Shui Po.

    The following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented during the road closure:

Traffic Arrangements:

- Vehicles in Berwick Street heading for Woh Chai Street via Shek Kip Mei Street northbound will be diverted via Shek Kip Mei Street southbound, Yiu Tung Street; and

- Nam Cheong Street northbound, Wai Lun Street westbound, Wai Chi Street, Nam Cheong Street southbound will be diverted onto Woh Chai Street.

Public Transport Arrangements:

1. Bus

- KMB route 2D (Tung Tau Estate direction) will be diverted via Pak Tin Street southbound and Woh Chai Street eastbound before resuming the normal routings; and

- The bus stop of this route on Berwick Street outside Shek Kip Mei Market will be temporarily suspended. Passengers are advised to use the bus stop on Woh Chai Street outside Shum Oi Church near Shek Kip Mei MTR Station.

2. Green Minibus (GMB):

- GMB route 9M (Shek Kip Met Market direction) will be diverted via Pak Tin Street southbound and Woh Chai Street eastbound before resuming the normal routings;

- GMB routes 10A, 10M and 30A (Shek Kip Met Market direction) will be diverted via Nam Cheong Street northbound, Wai Lun Street westbound, Wai Chi Street, Nam Cheong Street southbound and Woh Chai Street eastbound before resuming the normal routings;

- GMB routes 30B and 32M (Shek Kip Met Market direction) will be diverted via Nam Cheong Street southbound and Woh Chai Street eastbound before resuming the normal routings; and

- GMB routes 41A and 41M (Yau Yat Tsuen direction) will be diverted via Shek Kip Mei Street southbound, Yiu Tung Street westbound, Nam Cheong Street northbound, Wai Lun Street westbound, Wai Chi Street, Nam Cheong Street southbound and Woh Chai Street eastbound before resuming the normal routings.

- Passengers are advised to board/alight at Woh Chai Street for journeys to/from Shek Kip Mei Estate and Shek Kip Mei Market.

    Traffic signs will be put up to guide motorists. Notices will also be displayed by public transport operators to advise passengers of these measures.
