Special traffic arrangements in Central
The Transport Department announced today (July 19) that due to a burst water main in Des Voeux Road Central near Pottinger Street, sections of road in the vicinity will be closed from 9pm tonight until 6am tomorrow (July 20) for continuing repair works. Members of the public are urged to note the following special traffic arrangements:All lanes closed:
- Des Voeux Road Central eastbound between Wing Wo Street and Pottinger Street; and
- Pottinger Street between Des Voeux Road Central and Connaught Road Central.
Bus routes diversion:
The following bus routes are diverted and the temporary bus stop at Man Kat Street near Harbour Building will be used: 101, 104, 111, 109, 113, 115, 641, 680, 619, 681P, 690, 690P, 26, 5, 5B, 307, M47, 182, 788, 780, 1, 10, 18, 720, 11 and 603.
A spokesman of the Transport Department urged motorists to avoid driving to the area and passengers are strongly advised to use the MTR service instead. They should also listen to radio/TV announcements for updates.
The Transport Department is closely monitoring the traffic conditions and has been updating members of the public through radio stations and its homepage.
