Traffic of Tate's Cairn Tunnel normal

    The traffic flows of both the Tate's Cairn Tunnel and Lion Rock Tunnel were normal during morning peak hours on the second day of the Tate's Cairn Tunnel toll rise.

    From 6am to 9am today (August 2), the number of vehicles using the Tate's Cairn Tunnel was 8,800, a fall of about 4% as compared to a weekday before the toll increase. The number of vehicles using the Lion Rock Tunnel was 10,600, an increase of about 1%.

    The Transport Department would continue to monitor the traffic flow of both tunnels.
