Traffic & Transport affected by weather (2 pm)

   The Transport Department (TD) announced today (August 20) that transport and traffic in various areas of the territory were affected by various incidents caused by inclement weather.

    TD called on members of the public to pay attention to announcements of radio and TV stations for the latest transport and traffic news.  They were also advised to avoid areas that had been affected.  Motorists should drive with care and patience, and pay attention to the road signs.

Hong Kong Island:

Due to landslips on Victoria Road, both bound near House No. 212 were closed. Citybus No. M47, NWFB No. 971 were diverted to Mount Davis Road. RMB No. 11 was diverted to Pok Fu Lam Road. GMB No. 58 was diverted to Mount Davis Road.

Due to landslips on Shouson Hill Road near No.18A, all lanes near Island Road and HK Country Club were closed to traffic.

Due to landslips on Tai Hang Road, all lanes between Broadwood Road and Mount Butler Road were closed. NWFB No. 66, Citybus No. 41A, 11 and 63 were diverted.

Outlying Islands:

Due to landslips on Tung Chung Road near Shek Mum Kap, all lanes were closed for traffic. Services of New Lantao Bus route No. 3, 3M, 11, 23 and A35 were suspended. Passengers to and from Lantau Island were advised to use New World First Ferry Central – Mui Wo Route.

Due to landlips on South Lantau Road, all lanes between Tong Ruk and Cheung Sha were closed to all traffic.

Others:

Due to rainstorm, ferry service plying between Tuen Mun – Sha Lo Wan— Tai O was suspended today. Ferry service plying between Tuen Mun— Tung Chung, other outlying islands routes and inner harbour routes, service remained normal. Members of the pubic might call NWFF hotline 2131 8181 for latest arrangement.
