Update of transport situation

The Transport Department activated the Emergency Transport Coordination Centre at 10.45am today (July 16) to monitor public transport and road conditions as tropical cyclone Kompus approaches.

On ferry transport, most of the inner harbour and outlying ferry services are now suspended.

On land transport, MTR, Airport Express, KCR East Rail, West Rail and Light Rail are now maintaining a limited services.

On bus services, New Lantao Bus route 2, 4 and 23 have been suspended. Local services of New World First bus and Citybus will be suspended from 3.30pm, while the cross harbour services of these two companies will be suspended from 3.45pm. Services of KMB routes 3B, 5A, 5D, 28A, 46P, 58P, 61M, 62X, 74K, 82P, 86S, 87S, 224X, 242X, 260C, 260S, 286P, 298P, 603P, 680X, 681P, 914P, 934, 935, 948, 960A and 373 have been suspended.

Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang Shuttle Bus is still in operation.

Services of Tramway, Peak Tram and Central Mid-levels escalator are suspended.

The Emergency Transport Coordination Centre will operate throughout the typhoon and will closely liaise with public transport operators, and Government departments, including the Hong Kong Observatory, the Police, and the Works Departments to gather information and coordinate action when necessary.

The public should heed public announcements on bus service arrangements.
