Barracks Open Day transport arrangements

     The Transport Department has announced that in connection with the open day of the Barracks in Ngong Shuen Chau, Shek Kong and Stanley between 10am and 2pm on Saturday (October 1) National Day, special transport arrangements will be implemented as follows:

A. Special Transport Services to Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks

Franchised Bus Service:

     KMB Route 6R will be operated between Mei Foo (Mei Lai Road) and Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks (Chi Ngong Road) from 9am to 1.45pm at a headway of about 5-6 minutes. The adult fare is $4 per single journey.

Green Minibus Services:

     Kowloon GMB Route 44M will be operated between Lai Chi Kok (Cheung Shun Street) and Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks (Chi Ngong Road) from 6.50am to the end of the event at headway of about 10-15 minutes. The adult fare is $4 per single journey.

     NT GMB Route 87A will be operated between Kwai Fong MTR Station and Barracks (Chi Ngong Road) from 9am to 2pm at a headway of about 10 minutes. The adult fare is $3.30 per single journey.

B. Special Transport Services to Shek Kong Barracks

Franchised Bus Services:

     KMB Route 54 plying between Yuen Long (West) and Sheung Tsuen (Shek Kong) and Route 251M plying between Tsing Yi Airport Railway Station and Kam Tin (Pat Heung) (Circular) will be strengthened between 9.30am and 2.30pm subject to passenger demand. The adult fares for Routes 54 and 251M are $4.70 and $8.40 per single journey respectively.

Green Minibus Service:

     NT GMB Route 608 plying between Yuen Long (Fung Cheung Road) and Wang Toi Shan (Pat Heung) will be strengthened subject to passenger demand. The adult fare is $5.50 per single journey.

C. Special Transport Services to Stanley Barracks

Franchised Bus Services:

     From 9am to 3pm, NWFB Route 14 will be extended to ply between Aldrich Bay (Oi Tak Street) and Stanley Fort, and NWFB Route 65 will be extended to ply between North Point Ferry and Stanley Fort. The adult fares for both NWFB Routes 14 and 65 are $8.40 per single journey.  

     Operators will put up adequate notices to advise passengers of the special transport arrangements.
