Traffic and transport arrangements for closure of Prince Edward Road East in Kowloon City (with map)

     A Transport Department spokesman said today (November 10) that because of the footbridge demolition works, a section of Prince Edward Road East (Main Road) westbound between Choi Hung Road and Kowloon City Interchange would be closed from 1.30am to 5.30am from Saturday (November 12) to Monday.

     During the periods of road closure, the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented:

Traffic diversions

* Motorists on Prince Edward Road East westbound and Choi Hung Road southbound heading for Argyle Street may travel via Prince Edward Road East (Link Road) westbound, Prince Edward Road West westbound, Lomond Road southbound and Argyle Street westbound; or other alternative routeings.

* Motorists on Prince Edward Road East westbound and Choi Hung Road southbound heading for To Kwa Wan may travel via Prince Edward Road East (Link Road) westbound, Prince Edward Road West westbound, Lomond Road southbound, Argyle Street westbound and Tin Kwong Road southbound; or other alternative routeings.

Transport arrangements

Bus route diversion
* KMB route nos. N216 (Hung Hom KCR Station bound) and N293 (Mong Kok bound) will be diverted to operate via Prince Edward Road East (Link Road) westbound and Prince Edward Road West westbound before resuming their normal routeings.

* NWFB route no. N796 (Prince Edward MTR Station bound) will be diverted to operate via Prince Edward Road East (Link Road) westbound, Prince Edward Road West westbound, Lomond Road southbound, Argyle Street westbound before resuming the normal routeing.

* KMB route no. N121 (Central / Admiralty bound) and CTB route no. N23 (Tung Chung MTR Station bound) will be diverted to operate via Prince Edward Road East (Link Road) westbound, Prince Edward Road West westbound, Lomond Road southbound, Argyle Street eastbound, Kowloon City Interchange and Ma Tau Chung Road westbound before resuming their normal routeings.

Bus stops arrangements
* The bus stops for KMB route no. N121 and CTB route no. N23 at Prince Edward Road East westbound immediate to the east of Kowloon City Interchange will be suspended. At the same time, the replacement bus stops will be designated at Ma Tau Chung Road westbound outside Sung Wong Toi Playground.

* The bus stops for KMB route nos. N216 and N293 and NWFB route no. N796 at Prince Edward Road East westbound immediate to the east of Kowloon City Interchange will be suspended.

* The bus stops for NWFB route no. N796 outside Argyle Street Playground will be suspended. At the same time, the replacement bus stop will be designated at No. 361 - 367 Prince Edward Road West westbound.

* The bus stops for KMB route nos. N216 and N293 at Prince Edward Road West westbound outside Fook Lung Garden will be suspended.  At the same time, the replacement bus stops will be designated at No. 361 - 367 Prince Edward Road West westbound.

* The bus stops for KMB route no. N293 and NWFB route no. N796 at Prince Edward Road East westbound opposite to the Robert Black Healthy Centre will be suspended.  At the same time, the replacement bus stops will be designated at Prince Edward Road East westbound outside Kai Tak Operational Base of Hong Kong Police.

     "Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are now available at the Traffic Notices of the Department's Homepage (http://www.td.gov.hk). Traffic signs and public transport notices will be put up to guide motorists and passengers," the spokesman added.
