South China Sea International Cycling Race traffic arrangements
The Transport Department has announced that to facilitate the holding of the 10th Tour of South China Sea International Cycling Race, temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Kowloon and Tsing Yi will be implemented next Monday (December 26) from about 8am.
The department spokesman said that as en-route traffic may be affected, motorists were advised to exercise tolerance and patience in cases of traffic congestion, pay attention to radio/TV announcements and take heed of instruction of the Police. People are advised to allow more time for their journeys to avoid delay. Public transport services including a number of franchised bus routes and Green Minibus routes would be affected.
Actual implementation of the road closure, traffic and public transport diversions would be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas. All motorists are advised that strict enforcements, including multiple ticketing and towing, will be taken by the Police in the affected areas.
The special arrangements during the period are as specified below:
(A) Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Kowloon:
Road Closure:
The following roads in Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan will be intermittently closed from about 8am when the racers leave the starting point at Avenue of Star in Kowloon until the roads are re-opened for normal traffic:
Nathan Road northbound between Salisbury Road and Jordan Road;
Salisbury Road at junction with Nathan Road;
Haiphong Road at junction with Nathan Road;
Austin Road at junction with Nathan Road;
Bowring Street at junction with Nathan Road;
Jordan Road westbound at junction with Nathan Road;
Shanghai Street southbound at junction with Jordan Road;
Ferry Street at junction Jordan Road;
Canton Road at junction with Jordan Road;
Lin Cheung Road at junction with Jordan Road; and
West Kowloon Highway (the two rightmost lanes of the northbound carriageway)
Temporary stopping of bus and green minibus routes:
The following franchised bus and GMB services in Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan will be temporarily stopped from 8 to 8.15 am when the above road sections are temporarily closed.
(i) Franchised buses:

(B) Temporary traffic arrangement in New Territories:
The two rightmost lanes of the northbound carriageway of Tsing Kwai Highway will be intermittently closed from about 8.05 am until the road is re-opened for normal traffic.
(C) Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Tsing Yi will be implemented from about 7 am until the roads are re-opened for normal traffic:
(I) Lane closures:
The westbound carriageway of Ching Hong Road;
The southbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road West section between Ching Hong Road and Tsing Yi Road;
The northbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road section between the southbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road West and Tsing Yi Interchange (including the slip road underpassing Tsing Yi Interchange onto Tsing Yi Bridge); and
The southbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road section between Tsing Yi Interchange and Ching Hong Road.
Traffic Diversion:
Motorists on Tsing Yi Road West southbound heading for Tsing Yi Road / Cheung Tsing Highway are advised to travel via Ching Hong Road eastbound, Tsing Yi Road (Mayfair Gardens Section) northbound, Tsing Yi Interchange, Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section) southbound, Tsing Yi Road West northbound and Cheung Tsing Highway.
Motorists on Tsing Yi Bridge westbound heading for Ching Hong Road are advised to travel via Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road northbound, Chung Mei Road westbound and Ching Hong Road eastbound.
Motorists on Tsing Yi Bridge westbound heading for Cheung Tsing Highway are advised to travel Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section) southbound, Tsing Yi Road West northbound and Cheung Tsing Highway.
Motorists on Cheung Tsing Highway heading for Tsing Yi Road are advised to travel via Tsing Yi Road West northbound, Ching Hong Road eastbound and Tsing Yi Road (Mayfair Gardens Section).
Motorists on Tsing Yi Hong Wan Road heading for Tsing Yi Bridge are advised to travel via Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section) southbound, Tsing Yi Road West northbound, Ching Hong Road eastbound, Tsing Yi Road (Mayfair Gardens Section) northbound, Tsing Yi Interchange and Tsing Yi Bridge.
All vehicles access to Rambler Crest (except GMB Routes 88F and 88G) are advised to divert via Tsing Hung Road and vehicles exit from Rambler Crest can only turn right from Tsing Hung Road onto Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section) southbound.
Diversion of bus and green minibus routes:
(a) Franchised bus:
KMB Routes 41 (Cheung Ching - Kowloon City Ferry) and 43B (Cheung Ching - Tsuen Wan West WR Station Public Transport Interchange) on journeys towards Kowloon City Ferry / Tsuen Wan West WR Station Public Transport Interchange will be rerouted to travel via Ching Hong Road, Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road, Fung Shue Wo Road, Tsing Yi Road West, Ching Hong Road and Chung Mei Road before resuming their normal routeings.
The existing bus stops for these routes on Ching Hong Road outside Mayfair Gardens (for KMB Route 41) and opposite Po Leung Kuk 1983 Board of Directors' College (for KMB Routes 41 and 43B) will be temporarily suspended. Replacement bus stops will be provided on Ching Hong Road outside Ching Wai House and Cheung Ching Bus Terminus.
On journeys towards Cheung Ching:
KMB Route 41 will be terminated at Cheung Ching Bus Terminus by omitting Ching Hong Road roundabout and Ching Hong Road. The existing bus stop for this route on Ching Hong Road outside Mayfair Gardens will be temporarily suspended and a replacement bus stop will be provided at Cheung Ching Bus Terminus.
KMB Route 42 (Cheung Ching - Shun Lee):
On journeys towards Cheung Ching:
KMB Route 42 will be rerouted to travel via Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road, Fung Shue Wo Road roundabout, Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road, Chung Mei Road and Ching Hong Road before resuming its normal routeing. The existing bus stops for this route on Tsing Yi Road opposite Ching Tao House and Ching Hong Road outside Mayfair Gardens will be temporarily suspended.
KMB Routes 42A (Cheung Hang - Jordan (Wui Cheung Road)), 43 (Cheung Hong - Tsuen Wan West WR Station Public Transport Interchange), 43A (Cheung Wang - Shek Lai (Tai Loong Street)) and 43C (Cheung Hong - Tai Kok Tsui (Island Harbourview))
On journeys towards Cheung Hang/ Cheung Hong/ Cheung Wang:

KMB Route 42C will be rerouted to travel via Chung Mei Road, Ching Hong Road, Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road, Fung Shue Wo Road and Tsing Yi Road West before resuming its normal routeing. The existing bus stop for this route on Ching Hong Road opposite Cheung Hong Estate will be temporarily suspended.
KMB Route 243M (Tsuen Wan (Discovery Park) - Mayfair Gardens):
KMB Route 243M will be converted into a circular route with a terminating point at Tsuen Wan (Discovery Park). The route will be rerouted to travel via Chung Mei Road, Ching Hong Road, Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road, Fung Shue Wo Road and Tam Kon Shan Interchange before resuming its normal routeing.
On journeys towards Tsuen Wan (Discovery Park):
The existing bus stops for this route on Ching Hong Road outside Mayfair Gardens, opposite Cheung Ching Bus Terminus and opposite Po Leung Kuk 1983 Board of Directors’ College; and Chung Mei Road outside Hong Shun House, outside Tsing Yi Public School and near Tsing Yi Fire Station will be temporarily suspended.
