Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Kowloon City District Festival (with photo)

    The Transport Department today (February 24) issued a reminder that in connection with the holding of the Kowloon City District Festival - Closing Ceremony and Parade on Sunday (February 26), temporary road/traffic lane closures and traffic diversions would be implemented from 1.30pm on Sunday in phases in Kowloon City, To Kwa Wan, Ma Tau Wai, Hung Hom and Whampoa Garden in the Kowloon City district.
 
     A total of 18 bus routes and five green minibus routes will be temporarily diverted from 1.30pm onwards. Affected bus routes include cross-harbour routes, airport routes and routes traveling on Kowloon City district. Some bus stops and minibus stops will be temporarily suspended or relocated.

     Roadside metered parking spaces within the closed roads will be suspended between 10pm on February 25 and 6pm on February 26.

     The event will start at Carpenter Road Park, via South Wall Road, Nga Tsin Wai Road westbound, Junction Road southbound, Prince Edward Road West westbound, Forfar Road, Fu Ning Street southbound, Shing Tak Street westbound, Ma Tau Kok Road southbound, Ma Tau Chung Road southbound, Ma Tau Wai Road southbound, Chi Kiang Street, To Kwa Wan Road southbound, Ma Tau Wai Road southbound, Tak Man Street westbound, Tak On Street, and end at Shung King Street.

     People who plan to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport and should avoid driving to the affected areas. In cases of traffic obstruction, motorists are urged to exercise patience, and take heed of instructions of the Police in the affected areas. People are advised to allow themselves more traveling time than usual and listen to the radio for the latest traffic news.
