PVRM Scheme 1st phase application ends on May 2

The Transport Department has reminded the public that the first invitation exercise of the Personalized Vehicle Registration Marks (PVRMs) Scheme will end on May 2.

A department spokesman said, "We have received applications since April 1. Members of the public who wish to choose their preferred vehicle registration marks are advised to put in their applications no later than May 2."

Applications forms (TD569) and Guidance Notes for Applications can be downloaded from the Transport Department website (www.td.gov.hk) and are available at the department's Licensing Offices. Each applicant can only submit one application in each exercise. Applicants should read the Guidance Notes carefully before completing the application forms.

Applications can be dropped in the collection box at any of the Transport Department's Licensing Offices or sent, by post, to Vehicle Registration Marks Unit, Transport Department, Room 506-508, 5/F, Harcourt House, 39 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. No payment of deposit is required at this stage.

The spokesman said that if the number of applications received exceeds 1,000, the applications to be considered will be selected by lot. The department will notify applicants if their applications are selected and could meet the basic requirements, and they will be asked to pay a deposit. The selected applications will be further processed and those PVRMs accepted by the Commissioner for Transport will be allocated through sale by auction. It is planned that the first auction will take place in September.

Applicants can call the Enquiry Hotline at 2804 2600 or visit the Transport Department website for information relating to PVRM, as well as the relevant notices on the PVRM applications for this invitation exercise.
