Special traffic arrangements at Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery

A Transport Department spokesman said today (May 4) it was expected that a lot of grave sweepers would drive to the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery during this weekend (May 6 and 7), causing traffic congestion near the cemetery and seriously affecting other road users.

To ensure a smooth traffic flow and the safety of the grave sweepers, the Board of Management of Chinese Permanent Cemeteries, the Transport Department and Police will closely monitor the traffic conditions of the cemetery and the adjacent areas.  Subject to traffic conditions, special arrangements such as restriction of vehicles to enter the cemetery area and traffic diversions may be implemented to strive for smooth traffic flow.

Grave sweepers are strongly advised to pay attention to traffic news and follow the instructions of the on-site police.
