The West Rail (Phase I) will provide passenger service between Tuen Mun and West Kowloon. The Tseung Kwan O Extension, Ma On Shan Rail together with the Extension of East Rail from Hung Hom to Tsim Sha Tsui, and Penny's Bay Rail Link will provide convenient access to the respective future developments. The Sheung Shui to Lok Ma Chau Spur Line will relieve the existing congestion at Lo Wu Station and provide additional capacity to meet future demand for cross boundary services. Other proposed railway projects can be found in the Railway Development Strategy 2000 issued by Transport Bureau in May 2000.
