Prohibited Zones for
Vehicles Exceeding 11 Metres in Length (Except Buses) on

 Kwai Foo Road and Kwai Yi Road, Kwai Chung

 

In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 13 May 2009, the following sections of Kwai Foo Road and Kwai Yi Road will be designated prohibited zones for vehicles exceeding 11 metres (except buses) 24 hours daily:

 

(a)        Kwai Foo Road between Hing Fong Road and Kwai Chung Road; and

(b)        the northbound carriageway of Kwai Yi Road between Kwai Fuk Road and Kwai Foo Road.

 

Drivers of all motor vehicles, except buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from driving motor vehicles exceeding 11 metres in length into the above prohibited zones 24 hours daily.

 

The extent of the prohibited zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs.

 

At the same time, the existing prohibited zones for vehicles exceeding 11 metres (except franchised buses) on the above road sections as gazetted on 14 September 2007 under G.N. 6007 and  on 3 October 2008 under G.N.6809 will be rescinded.
