ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS

(Chapter 374)

 

RESTRICTED ZONES IN MONG KOK

                                               

                In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 22 May 2009, the following road sections in Mong Kok will be designated restricted zones 24 hours daily:

 

(a)       the eastern kerbside lane of Tong Mi Road from its junction with Argyle Street to a point about 25 metres north of the same junction. At the same time, the existing restricted zone from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm daily on the above road section will be rescinded;

 

(b)      the northern kerbside lane of Argyle Street from its junction with Tong Mi Road to a point about 25 metres east of the same junction. At the same time, the existing restricted zone from 8.00 am to 10.00 am and from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm daily on the above road section will be rescinded; and

 

(c)      the northern kerbside lane of Argyle Street from a point about 15 metres east of  its junction with Canton Road to a point about 35 metres east of the same junction. At the same time, the existing restricted zone from 7.00 am to 12.00 midnight daily on the above road section for Public Light Bus will be rescinded.

 

               Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from: -

 

(a)       picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)      loading or unloading goods.

 

               The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.
