Tender Result of "Sai Wan Ho - Kwun Tong" and

"Sai Wan Ho - Sam Ka Tsuen" Licensed Ferry Services

               Members of the public are advised that tenders were invited in March 2009 for operating "Sai Wan Ho - Kwun Tong" and "Sai Wan Ho - Sam Ka Tsuen" licensed ferry services (the "Ferry Services").  The Transport Department announced that new ferry service licences are granted to Coral Sea Ferry Service Company Limited to operate the Ferry Services.

               The ferry service licences are for a period of three years commencing 1 November 2009, which upon application from the operator may be extended subject to satisfactory performance of the operator in provision of the Ferry Services. 

               The service level of the two Ferry Services to be provided under the new licences will be similar to the existing arrangements.  As to the fares, the ferry operator will charge an adult single journey fare of $5.5 vis-à-vis the present fare at $4.8, and provide concessionary fare to child under 12 years old, passengers aged 65 or above and passengers with disabilities at half-price.

               Appropriate notices will be put up by the ferry operator at relevant piers to inform passengers of the details of the operating arrangements of the Ferry Services.
