ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (Chapter 374)
In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 1 July 2010, the following road sections in Sha Tin will be subject to the following speed limits:
50 kilometres per hour
(a) the section of Tai Po Road (Ma Liu Shui section) from a point about 495 metres south of its junction with Lai Ping Road to a point about 120 metres north of the same junction; and
(b) the slip road leading from Tai Po Road (Sha Tin section) westbound near the roundabout of Kau To Shan Road to Tai Po Road (Sha Tin Section) westbound near Sha Tin Racecourse.
80 kilometres per hour
(c) the section of slip road leading from Tai Po Road (Sha Tin section) eastbound near Sha Tin Racecourse to the roundabout of Tsun King Road from its diverging point with Tai Po Road (Sha Tin section) eastbound to a point about 200 metres east of the same point; and
(d) the section of slip road leading from Tai Po Road (Sha Tin section) eastbound near Sha Tin Racecourse to Sha Tin Racecourse from its diverging point with Tai Po Road (Sha Tin section) eastbound to a point about 200 metres east of the same point.
At the same time, the existing speed limit on the above road sections will be rescinded.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.
