TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

Traffic and Transport Arrangements in West Kowloon

              Notice is hereby given that in connection with the construction of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented with effect from 9.00 a.m. on 2 January 2011:

A. Temporary Traffic Arrangements (from 2 January 2011 for a period of about 4 years)
I. Opening of Temporary Roads (see Figure)
The following temporary roads will be opened:
1. Road D1A (N) for one-way southbound traffic connecting Lin Cheung Road southbound near Civil Aid Service Headquarter and Jordan Road; and
2. Road D1A (S) for two-way traffic connecting Road D1A (N) and Wui Man Road.

II. Temporary Road Closure (see Figure)
The section of Lin Cheung Road southbound between Civil Aid Service Headquarter and Austin Road West will be closed.

B. Permanent Road Closure (see Figure)
The section of Wui Cheung Road between Wui Man Road and Lin Cheung Road will be closed permanently.

C. Temporary Traffic Diversions
Concurrent with the traffic arrangements in sections A and B, the following temporary traffic diversions will be implemented:
1. Vehicles from West Kowloon Highway and Lin Cheung Road southbound heading for Jordan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui and Austin Road West will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (N) and Road D1A (S) southbound.
2. Vehicles from Lin Cheung Road northbound heading for Tsim Sha Tsui will be diverted to travel via Jordan Road eastbound, Road D1A (S) southbound, Wui Cheung Road eastbound and Canton Road southbound.
3. Vehicles from Jordan Road heading for Tsim Sha Tsui and Austin Road West will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (S) southbound, then Wui Cheung Road eastbound and Canton Road southbound to Tsim Sha Tsui or Wui Man Road southbound to Austin Road West.
4. Vehicles from Wui Cheung Road westbound heading for Jordan Road and Austin Road West will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (S) northbound and Wui Man Road southbound respectively.

D. Public Transport Arrangements
I. Bus and GMB Routes Diversions
1. CTB routes A22, E23, N11, N23, R22 and X22 on West Kowloon Highway and Lin Cheung Road southbound heading for Kowloon East or Hong Kong Island will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (N) before resuming their normal routeings on Jordan Road eastbound.
2. KMB routes 260P, 260X, 268B, 269B and CTB route E21X on West Kowloon Highway and Lin Cheung Road southbound heading for Tsim Sha Tsui will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (N), Road D1A (S) southbound and Wui Cheung Road eastbound before resuming their normal routeings on Canton Road southbound.
3. XHT routes 973 and 973P on Jordan Road eastbound heading for Tsim Sha Tsui will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (S) southbound and Wui Cheung Road eastbound before resuming their normal routeings on Canton Road southbound.
4. XHT routes 914 and 914X on Wui Cheung Road westbound heading for Hong Kong Island will be diverted to travel via Road D1A (S) northbound before resuming their normal routeings on Jordan Road westbound.
5. KMB routes 8, 11, 203E and 270A on Jordan Road westbound heading for MTR Kowloon Station will be diverted to travel via Canton Road southbound, Wui Cheung Road westbound, Wui Man Road southbound and Austin Road West westbound before resuming their normal routeings on Nga Cheung Road northbound.
6. XHT route 110, KMB routes 215X, 259B, 261B and 281A on Canton Road northbound heading for MTR Kowloon Station will be diverted to travel via Wui Cheung Road westbound, Wui Man Road southbound and Austin Road West westbound before resuming their normal routeings on Nga Cheung Road northbound.
7. KMB routes 8, 11, 203E and 270A departing from MTR Kowloon Station will be diverted to travel via Nga Cheung Road southbound, Austin Road West eastbound and Canton Road northbound before resuming their normal routeings on Jordan Road eastbound.
8. XHT route 110, KMB routes 215X, 259B, 281A, 296D and GMB route 77M departing from MTR Kowloon Station will be diverted to travel via Nga Cheung Road southbound, Austin Road West eastbound, Wui Man Road northbound and Wui Cheung Road eastbound before resuming their normal routeings on Canton Road southbound.

II. Bus and GMB Stops Arrangements
1. KMB routes 8, 11, 203E, 215X, 270A and XHT Route 110 on their journeys to MTR Kowloon Station will not observe the bus stop on Jordan Road outside former City Golf Club. Passengers of these bus routes may use the bus stop on Jordan Road outside King George V Memorial Park or MTR Kowloon Station Bus Terminus instead.
2. The bus stop of KMB routes 8, 11, 203E and 270A departing from MTR Kowloon Station will not observe the bus stop on Jordan Road opposite to former City Golf Club. Passengers of these bus routes may use the bus stop on Jordan Road opposite to King George V Memorial Park or MTR Kowloon Station Bus Terminus instead.
3. The bus stop of KMB routes 11, 203E, 215X, 259B, 270A and 281A on Nga Cheung Road will be cancelled. Passengers of these bus routes may use MTR Kowloon Station Bus Terminus instead.
4. The stop of GMB route 77M on Wui Cheung Road outside former City Golf Club will be relocated to Wui Man Road opposite to MTR Austin Station.

              Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices at the stops and inside vehicle compartments of the affected routes to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
