ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE  (Chapter 374)

 

TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT ON TOLO HIGHWAY

 

                   In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that the speed limit of the following road sections on Tolo Highway will be temporarily reduced from 100 kilometres per hour to 80 kilometres per hour to facilitate road works during the period from 6.00 am on 18 March 2011 to 30 December 2013:

 

(a) the northbound carriageway of Tolo Highway from a point about 170 metres south of its diverging point with Yuen Shin Road to a point about 1 kilometer south of its diverging point with Tai Po Tai Wo Road; 

(b) the section of the slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of Tolo Highway to Yuen Shin Road from its diverging point with Tolo Highway to a point about 30 metres north of the same diverging point;

(c) the section of the slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of Tai Po Road - Yuen Chau Tsai to Tolo Highway from its merging point with Tolo Highway to a point about 90 metres south of the same merging point;

(d) the southbound carriageway of Tolo Highway from a point about 600 metres south of its merging point with Tai Po Tai Wo Road to a point about 370 metres south of its merging point with Yuen Shin Road;

(e) the section of the slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of Tolo Highway to Tai Po Road - Yuen Chau Tsai from its diverging point with Tolo Highway to a point about 70 metres south of the same diverging point;

(f) the section of the slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of Yuen Shin Road to Tolo Highway from its merging point with Tolo Highway to a point about 50 metres north of the same merging point; and

(g) the section of the slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of Tai Po Road - Yuen Chau Tsai to Tolo Highway from its merging point with Tolo Highway to a point about 50 metres north of the same merging point.

 

                   Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.

 

                   At the same time, the existing speed limit of 100 kilometres per hour on the above sections of roads will be temporarily rescinded.
