ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

PROHIBITED ZONES IN MA WAN, TSUEN WAN

       In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 25 November 2011, all roads in Ma Wan will be designated prohibited zones 24 hours daily.

       Drivers of all motor vehicles will be prohibited from driving vehicles into the prohibited zones 24 hours daily except:

       (i)         goods vehicles from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm daily;

       (ii)        urban taxis from 10.00 am to 7.00 am the next day on Mondays to Fridays (except Public Holidays), and from 8.00 pm to 7.00 am the next day on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays; and

       (iii)      those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport.

        The extent of the prohibited zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs.

       At the same time, the existing prohibited zones in Ma Wan, Tsuen Wan as gazetted in G.N. 5237 of 2009 will be rescinded.
