Traffic Advice

Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Ap Lei Chau

              Members of the public are advised that in connection with the construction of MTRCL South Island Line (East), the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Ap Lei Chau during periods stipulated below:

A. Traffic Diversions
The following traffic diversions will be implemented with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 9 January 2012 for about one year:

1. The section of Yi Nam Road between Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road and South Horizon Drive will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way southbound.
2. Vehicles from Yi Nam Road heading for Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road will be diverted to travel via South Horizon Drive.

B. Public Transport Arrangements:
The following public transport arrangements will be implemented with effect from 5.40 a.m. on 9 January 2012 for about one year:

I. Relocation of Bus Terminus
The terminating point of Citybus Route N90 in South Horizons Bus Terminus will be relocated to Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus.

II. Bus and GMB Route Diversions
1. CTB Route N90 on bothbound journeys will omit Yi Nam Road and the section of Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road west of the ingress of Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus.
2. GMB Route 63 on journey to Queen Mary Hospital will be diverted to travel via South Horizon Drive before resuming its normal routeing on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road eastbound.

III. Bus and GMB Stops Arrangements
1. CTB Route N90 on journey to Central will not observe the bus stops on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road outside Lei Chak House, Ap Lei Chau Estate and outside Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus.
2. CTB Route N90 on journey to Ap Lei Chau will not observe the bus stop on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road outside Block 30, South Horizons.
3. The stop of GMB Route 63 on Yi Nam Road outside Marina Square East Market will be relocated to Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road opposite Precious Blood Primary School (South Horizons).

              Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices at the stops and inside vehicle compartments of the affected routes to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
