TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Central District
Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the construction of Central – Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link – Central Interchange, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented during the period as specified below:
(A) From 1.15 am to 6.00 am on 24 and 25 February 2012
I. Road Closure
The section of Man Yiu Street southbound between Man Kwong Street and Lung Wo Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.
II. Temporary Traffic Arrangement
During the above road closure, the following temporary traffic diversion will be implemented :
(a) Affected vehicles from Man Kwong Street eastbound heading for Connaught Road Central will be diverted via Man Kwong Street eastbound, roundabout, Man Kwong Street westbound, Man Chiu Street and Man Kat Street; and
(b) Affected vehicles from Man Kwong Street eastbound heading for Man Cheung Street or Lung Wo Road will be diverted via Man Kwong Street eastbound, roundabout, Man Kwong Street westbound, Man Chiu Street, Man Kat Street and Man Cheung Street eastbound.
(B) From 6.00 am on 25 February 2012 onwards (for a period of about 2 years)
I. Temporary Traffic Arrangement
The section of Man Yiu Street between Man Kwong Street and Lung Wo Road will be temporarily realigned.
II. Temporary Public Transport Arrangement
During the above road closure, the following temporary bus stop relocation will be implemented :
The bus stop for Citybus (CTB) Route Nos. 11, 12 & 511 and New World First Bus (NWFB) Route Nos. 15, 15C and 25 at Man Yiu Street southbound and CTB Route Nos. 347, 5X & 7 and NWFB Route Nos. 2, 30X, 3A, 4, 4X & 91 at Man Yiu Street northbound will be temporarily relocated 30 metres eastwards.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers on the above public transport arrangements. Actual implementation of and adjustments to road closures, traffic control and public transport arrangements will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in cases of traffic congestion, follow the instruction given by the Police and watch out for the latest traffic news on radio and television.
