ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (Chapter 374)

Extension of Temporary Restricted Zones in Sham Shui Po

     In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 30 April 2012 to 6 June 2012, the following road sections in Sham Shui Po will continue to be temporarily designated restricted zones 24 hours daily:

• (a) the eastern kerbside lane of Tonkin Street from its junction with Po On Road to a point about 40 metres north of the same junction; and
• (b) the section of Po On Road from its junction with Tonkin Street to a point about 40 metres east of the same junction.

     Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

• (a)  picking up or setting down passengers; or
• (b)  loading or unloading goods.

     The extent of the restricted zones has been indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

     At the same time, the existing restricted zones the above road sections will continue to be temporarily rescinded.
