TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

Temporary Traffic Arrangements in Wan Chai

 

Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the water main replacement works, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented from 10.00 am on 15 April 2013 to 6.00 pm on 29 June 2013:

 

I.              Temporary Traffic Arrangements

 

(a)               Road Closure

 

The section of Marsh Road northbound between Gloucester Road and Jaffe Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.

 

(b)               Banning of Turning Movement

 

All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn from Tonnochy Road northbound onto Jaffe Road.

 

(c)               Traffic Diversion

 

(i)                  The section of Jaffe Road between Tonnochy Road and Marsh Road will be converted from eastbound traffic to westbound traffic;

(ii)                Affected vehicles on Marsh Road northbound heading for Gloucester Road service road westbound will be diverted via Jaffe Road westbound and Tonnochy Road northbound;

(iii)               Affected vehicles on Marsh Road northbound heading for Marsh Road southbound will be diverted via Jaffe Road westbound, Tonnochy Road southbound, Lockhart Road eastbound, Canal Road West northbound and Gloucester Road service road westbound;

(iv)              Affected vehicles on the section of Jaffe Road between Stewart Road and Tonnochy Road heading for Marsh Road southbound will be diverted via Tonnochy Road southbound, Lockhart Road eastbound, Canal Road West northbound and Gloucester Road service road westbound;

(v)                Affected vehicles on the section of Jaffe Road between Stewart Road and Tonnochy Road heading for the section of Jaffe Road between Tonnochy Road and Marsh Road will be diverted via Tonnochy Road southbound, Lockhart Road eastbound and Marsh Road northbound; and

(vi)              Affected vehicles on Tonnochy Road northbound heading for the section of Jaffe Road between Tonnochy Road and Marsh Road will be diverted via Gloucester Road service road westbound, Stewart Road southbound, Lockhart Road eastbound and Marsh Road northbound.

 

II.            Public Transport Arrangement

 

Green Minibus (GMB) Diversion

 

The following GMB routes will be temporarily diverted:

 

Routes	Direction	Diversion
GMB 4A, 4C, 5 and 69X	To Causeway Bay	via Jaffe Road westbound and Tonnochy Road southbound.

 

Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. The GMB operator will display notices at the stops to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements.
