Temporary Closure of Tuen Mun Road Eastbound (Sham Tseng Section)
Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the installation of sign gantry on Tuen Mun Road eastbound (Sham Tseng Section), the following temporary traffic and public transport arrangements will be implemented in Tsuen Wan:
A) Lane Closure
The following traffic lanes will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:
(1) from 9.00 pm on 24 June 2013 to 7.00 am on 25 June 2013:
(i) the fast lane of Tuen Mun Road westbound between Tsing Long Highway and Sham Tseng Interchange.
(2) from 8.00 pm to 11.00 pm on 24 June 2013:
(i) the fast lane of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between Siu Lam Interchange and Sham Tseng Interchange; and
(ii) the slow lane of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between Sham Tseng Interchange and Tsing Long Highway.
(3) from 11.00 pm on 24 June 2013 to 1.30 am on 25 June 2013
(i) the fast and middle lane of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between So Kwun Wat and Siu Lam Interchange;
(ii) the fast lane of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between Siu Lam Interchange and Sham Tseng;
(iii) the fast and middle lane of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between Sham Tseng and Sham Tseng Interchange; and
(iv) the slow and middle lane of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between Sham Tseng Interchange and Tsing Long Highway.
B) Road Closure
The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1.30 am to 5.45 am on 25 June 2013:
(1) the section of Tuen Mun Road eastbound between Sham Tseng Interchange and Ting Kau Bridge;
(2) the slip road leading from Castle Peak Road-Tai Lam Section to Tuen Mun Road eastbound; and
(3) the slip road leading from Castle Peak Road-Sham Tseng Section to Tuen Mun Road eastbound.
C) Traffic Diversion
(a) Traffic Diversions towards Tsuen Wan (N) and Sha Tin
(i) Motorists on Tuen Mun Road eastbound heading for Tsuen Wan (N) and Sha Tin are advised to travel via Siu Lam Interchange or Sham Tseng Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road northbound and Castle Peak Road.
(b) Traffic Diversions towards Tsing Yi and Kowloon
(i) Motorists on Tuen Mun Road eastbound heading for Tsing Yi and Kowloon are advised to travel via Siu Lam Interchange or Sham Tseng Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road southbound, Tai Chung Road roundabout and Tsuen Wan Road.
(c) Traffic Diversions towards Lantau Island
(i) Motorists on Tuen Mun Road eastbound heading for Lantau Island are advised to travel via Siu Lam Interchange or Sham Tseng Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road southbound, Tai Chung Road roundabout, Tsuen Wan Road eastbound, Tsuen Tsing Interchange, Tsing Tsuen Road westbound, Tam Kon Shan Interchange, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, Northwest Tsing Yi Interchange and Lantau Link.
D) Public Transport Arrangements
(a) Temporary Diversions of bus services
(i) KMB route no. N30 (to Tung Chung) will be diverted to operate via Siu Lam Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road southbound, Tai Chung Road roundabout, Tsuen Wan Road eastbound, Tsuen Tsing Interchange, Tsing Tsuen Road westbound, Tam Kon Shan Interchange, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, Northwest Tsing Yi Interchange and Lantau Link before resuming its original routing;
(ii) KMB route no. N260 (to Mei Foo) will be diverted to operate via Siu Lam Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road northbound and Castle Peak Road before resuming its original routing;
(iii) KMB route no. 59S (to Mong Kok) will be diverted to operate via Siu Lam Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road northbound and Castle Peak Road before resuming its original routing; and
(iv) KMB route no. N962 (to Causeway Bay) will be diverted to operate via Siu Lam Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road southbound, Tai Chung Road roundabout, Tsuen Wan Road eastbound, Kwai Chung Road eastbound and Tsing Kwai Highway eastbound before resuming its original routing.
(b) Temporary Diversions of Green Mini-bus (GMB) service
(i) GMB route nos. 47S, 48S (to Mong Kok), 606S and 610S (to Tsim Sha Tsui) will be diverted to operate via Siu Lam Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road southbound, Tai Chung Road roundabout and Tsuen Wan Road before resuming their original routings; and
(ii) GMB route no. 49S (to Wan Chai) will be diverted to operate via Siu Lam Interchange, Castle Peak Road eastbound, Hoi on Road eastbound, Hoi Hing Road northbound and Castle Peak Road before resuming its original routing.
Appropriate traffic aids will be erected on site. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care. At the same time, the bus companies and the GMB operator will put up notices to advise passengers of the above temporary public transport arrangements.
