ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (Chapter 374)

Extension of Temporary Restricted Zones in Jordan

     In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 26 October 2014 to 22 November 2014, the following road sections in Jordan will continue to be temporarily designated restricted zones 24 hours daily:-

• (a) the section of Bowring Street from its junction with Shanghai Street to a point about 30 metres west of the same junction; and

• (b) the western kerbside lane of Shanghai Street from its junction with Bowring Street to a point about 15 metres south of the same junction.

     Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

• (a) picking up or setting down passengers; or
• (b) loading or unloading goods.

     The extents of the restricted zones have been indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.
