Rationalization and Strengthening of GMB Route

Nos. 20 (Sai Wan Ho (Grand Promenade) Public Transport Terminus – Chai Wan
Industrial City) and 20M (Hing Man Estate – Chai Wan Industrial City) Services

 

        Members of the public are advised that the services of GMB Route Nos. 20 (Sai Wan Ho (Grand Promenade) Public Transport Terminus – Chai Wan Industrial City) and 20M (Hing Man Estate – Chai Wan Industrial City) will be reorganised with effect from 1 December 2014 (Monday). Details are as follows:

 

(i)      to convert Route No. 20 into a circular service (Sai Wan Ho (Grand Promenade) PTT – Chai Wan (Fung Yip Street))(Circular) by truncation of route via Fung Yip Street in lieu of the section of Sheung On Street between Fung Yip Street and Sheung Ping Street, Sheung Ping Street, Wing Tai Road, Ka Yip Street and the section of Sheung On Street between Ka Yip Street and Fung Yip Street during off-peak hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and after 8 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays and whole day on Sundays and Public Holidays.  Passengers can make use of the nearby alternative stopping point on No. 21 Fung Yip Street outside Kailey Industrial Centre;

 

(ii)     to strengthen the frequency of Sai Wan Ho departures of Route No. 20 from 7/8 minutes to 6/7 minutes from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. and from 12/15 minutes to 10/12 minutes from 8.00 p.m. to 11.40 p.m. daily;

 

(iii)    to strengthen the frequency of Hing Man Estate departures and Chai Wan Industrial City departures of Route No. 20M from 6 minutes to 4/5 minutes from 7.15 a.m. to 9.15 p.m. and from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; and

 

(iv)    to provide interchange concessionary fares between Route Nos. 20 and 20M on Chai Wan Road to facilitate passengers using the same octopus card to travel to/from Chai Wan Industrial City:

             Notices will be displayed by the GMB operator at GMB termini, en-route stops and inside vehicle compartments to inform passengers of the above arrangements in advance.
