 Temporary Traffic Arrangements for
The 26th Tsuen Wan Sports Festival Opening cum Chung Hing 10K


        Members of the public are advised that to facilitate the holding of The 26th Tsuen Wan Sports Festival Opening cum Chung Hing 10K 2015, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Tsuen Wan on 25 and 26 April 2015 with time periods specified below:  

        (A)   From 2.00 pm on 25 April 2015 to 6.59 am on 26 April 2015

        (a)  Traffic Arrangements

(i) The slow lane of Castle Peak Road westbound between Bayview Garden and Long Beach Gardens will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic. Motorists are advised to use the fast lane of the above road section.

        (b)  Public Transport Services Arrangements

        (i)  Bus services

The en-route bus stop of KMB route nos. 53 and 234B (Yuen Long / Sham Tseng bound) at Greenview Terrace will be suspended.

(ii) GMB services

The en-route bus stop of GMB route nos. 96, 96M, 96C and 302 (Tsing Lung Tau / Sham Tseng bound) at Greenview Terrace will be suspended.

(B)   From 7.00 am to 10.00 am on 26 April 2015

(a)  Traffic Arrangements

(i) Road Closures

The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:

(1) the slow lane of Castle Peak Road westbound between Bayview Garden and Long Beach Gardens;

(2) the section of Castle Peak Road (New Ting Kau) westbound between Long Beach Gardens and the Airport Core Programme Exhibition Centre; and

(3) the right turn movement from Yau Lai Road southbound onto Castle Peak Road.

During the period of the above road closure, the eastbound carriageway of Castle Peak Road (New Ting Kau) between the Airport Core Programme Exhibition Centre and Long Beach Gardens will be converted to two-way traffic.

(b)  Public Transport Services Arrangements

(i) Bus services

The en-route bus stops of KMB route nos. 53 and 234B (Yuen Long / Sham Tseng bound) at Greenview Terrace, Yau Kom Tau, Approach Beach, South Mountain Swimming Association, Ting Kau, Lido Beach and Hoi Mei Beach will be suspended.  Temporary bus stops will be re-provided near the Bay Bridge, Ting Kau Roundabout and Castle Peak Road westbound outside the Airport Core Programme Exhibition Centre.

(ii) GMB services

GMB Route Nos. 96, 96M, 96C and 302 (Tsing Lung Tau / Sham Tseng bound) will be diverted to operate via Castle Peak Road (New Ting Kau) westbound [via Castle Peak Road (New Ting Kau) eastbound carriageway], Ting Kau Roundabout, slip road leading from Ting Kau Roundabout to Castle Peak Road (Ting Kau) before resuming their normal routeings;

The en-route stops of GMB route nos. 96, 96M, 96C and 302 (Tsing Lung Tau / Sham Tseng bound) on the following road sections will be suspended:

(1) the section of Castle Peak Road westbound between Bayview Garden and Approach Beach; and

(2) the section of Castle Peak Road westbound between Ting Kau Roundabout and the Airport Core Programme Exhibition Centre.

Temporary stops will be re-provided near the Bay Bridge, Ting Kau Roundabout and Castle Peak Road westbound outside the Airport Core Programme Exhibition Centre.

        Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.  Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made by the Police at the time depending on the traffic conditions in the area.  Affected motorists are advised to drive with utmost care and patience.
