Temporary Traffic Arrangements in Yuen Long

     Motorists are advised that to facilitate the construction of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented by phases in Yuen Long from 2.00 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. daily on 22, 23 June, 6 and 7 July 2016.  Details are as follows:

     (I) Phase 1
     1. The sections of Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi and Mai Po) from its junction with Kam Pok Road at Tam Mi to a point about 1,400 metres north of the same junction (near Mai Po) will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way southbound for about 20 minutes. 

     2. Vehicles on Kam Pok Road (eastbound) heading for Mai Po area will be diverted via Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi)(southbound), roundabout, San Tam Road (northbound) and Castle Peak Road (Mai Po).

     (II) Phase 2
     1. The section of Kam Pok Road between Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi) and Fairview Park Boulevard will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way westbound for about 5 minutes. 

     2. Vehicles on Fairview Park Boulevard (eastbound) heading for Ha Chuk Yuen Road direction will be diverted via Fairview Park Boulevard (eastbound), roundabout, Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi)(northbound) and Kam Pok Road (westbound).

     (III) Phase 3
     1. The section of Kam Pok Road between Fairview Park Boulevard and Kam Pok Road East will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way southbound, and the section of Kam Pok Road East between Kam Pok Road and Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi) will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way eastbound for about 5 minutes. 

     2. Vehicles on Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi)(northbound) heading for Kam Pok Road East direction will be diverted via Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi)(northbound), roundabout, Fairview Park Boulevard (westbound), Kam Po Road (southbound) and Kam Pok Road East.

     (IV) Phase 4
     1. The section of Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi) between Kam Pok Road East and Pok Wai South Road will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way southbound, and the section of Pok Wai South Road connecting to Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi) will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way westbound for about 10 minutes. 

     2. Vehicles on Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi)(northbound) heading for Fairview Park Boulevard direction will be diverted via San Tam Road (northbound), roundabout and Fairview Park Boulevard (westbound).

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements and traffic control will be made by the police depending on the traffic condition in the area. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, and observe the instructions given by the police.
