TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Ap Lei Chau
Notice is hereby given that in connection with the construction of MTRCL South Island Line (East), the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Ap Lei Chau:
A. Traffic Arrangements
1. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
The section of Yi Nam Road between Lee Nam Road and the entrance/exit of South Horizons Bus Terminus will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic; and
2. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016
The section of Yi Nam Road between Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road and South Horizon Drive will be reinstated from one-way southbound to two-way traffic.
B. Traffic Diversions
1. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
(a) Vehicles from Yi Nam Road (southbound) heading for Lee Nam Road will continue to be diverted to travel via South Horizon Drive, Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound) and Lee Nam Road (southbound);
(b) Vehicles from Lee Nam Road (northbound) heading for Yi Nam Road and South Horizon Drive will be diverted to travel via Lee Nam Road (northbound), Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound), Yi Nam Road (southbound) and South Horizon Drive; and
(c) Vehicles from Lee Nam Road (southbound) heading for Yi Nam Road and South Horizon Drive will be diverted to travel via Lee Nam Road (southbound), Lee Hing Street (eastbound), Lee King Street (westbound), Lee Nam Road (northbound), Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound), Yi Nam Road (southbound) and South Horizon Drive.
C. Public Transport Arrangements
I. Arrangements of Bus Terminus
1. From 1 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
The terminating point of Citybus (“CTB”) route 95C in Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus will be temporarily relocated to Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound) opposite to Precious Blood Primary School (South Horizons); and
2. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016
The terminating point of CTB route N90 in Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus will be reinstated to South Horizons Bus Terminus.
II. Bus and Green Minibus (“GMB”) Route Diversions
1. From 1 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
CTB route 95C from Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound) opposite to Precious Blood Primary School (South Horizons) will be diverted to travel via Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound) and Yi Nam Road (southbound) before resuming its normal routeing on South Horizon Drive;
2. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
(a) GMB routes 37 and 37A will continue not to serve South Horizons area. The two GMB routes from Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) heading for Lei Tung Estate will continue to be diverted to travel via Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) and Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus before resuming their normal routeings on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound);
(b) Cross Harbour Tunnel (“XHT”) route 671 and Airport route A10 from Lee Nam Road (northbound) heading for Kowloon and Airport will be diverted to travel via Lee Nam Road (northbound), Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) and Yi Nam Road (southbound) before resuming their normal routeings on South Horizon Drive;
3. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016
(a) New World First Bus (“NWFB”) routes 590, 590A, 595, CTB routes 90B, 99, 592 and XHT route 171 from South Horizon Drive heading for South Horizons will be reinstated to travel via Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound) and Yi Nam Road (southbound) before entering South Horizons Bus Terminus;
(b) CTB route N90 from Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) heading for South Horizons will be reinstated to travel via Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) and Yi Nam Road (southbound) before entering South Horizons Bus Terminus;
(c) CTB route N90 from South Horizons Bus Terminus will be reinstated to travel via Yi Nam Road (northbound) and Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound) before resuming its normal routeing;
(d) GMB route 63 from Yi Nam Road (northbound) heading for Queen Mary Hospital will be reinstated to travel via Yi Nam Road (northbound) before resuming its normal routeing on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (eastbound); and
(e) GMB route 63 from Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) heading for South Horizons will be reinstated to travel via Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road (westbound) and Yi Nam Road (southbound) before entering South Horizons Bus Terminus.
III. Bus and GMB Stops Arrangements
1. From 1 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
A temporary bus stop of CTB route 95C for journey to Chi Fu Fa Yuen will continue to be added on South Horizon Drive outside Block 18, South Horizons; At the same time, the bus stop of CTB route 95C on Lee Nam Road (southbound) will be suspended;
2. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016 to 31 August 2016
The stop for GMB routes 37 and 37A on Yi Nam Road outside Marina Square East Market will continue to be suspended. Passengers of these GMB routes may use the stop in Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus;
3. From 10.00 am on 5 August 2016
(a) CTB route N90 on journey to Central will be reinstated to observe the bus stops on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road outside Lei Chak House, Ap Lei Chau Estate and outside Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus;
(b) CTB route N90 on journey to Ap Lei Chau will be reinstated to observe the bus stop on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road outside Block 30, South Horizons;
(c) The stop of GMB route 63 on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road opposite to Precious Blood Primary School (South Horizons) will be reinstated to Yi Nam Road outside Marina Square East Market; and
(d) The stop of GMB route 63 on Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road outside Ap Lei Chau Estate Bus Terminus will be reinstated to Ap Lei Chau Bridge Road outside Block 30, South Horizons.
Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices at the stops and inside vehicle compartments of the affected routes to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
