TRAFFIC ADVICE

 

Special Traffic Arrangements for a Public Procession

on Hong Kong Island on 10 December 2016

 

Members of the public are advised that to facilitate a public procession to be held on Hong Kong Island on 10 December 2016 (Saturday), intermittent traffic lane closure of the following roads to all vehicular traffic will be implemented by the Police from about 1.30 pm onwards until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

 

(a)         Tin Chiu Street;

(b)         Marble Road;

(c)         Kam Hong Street;

(d)         King’s Road westbound;

(e)         Causeway Road westbound;

(f)          Irving Street;

(g)         Pennington Street;

(h)         Yee Wo Street westbound;

(i)          Jardine’s Bazaar;

(j)          Hennessy Road westbound;

(k)         Queensway westbound;

(l)          Queen’s Road Central;

(m)        Morrison Street northbound;

(n)         The section of Bonham Strand between Morrison Street and Bonham Strand West;

(o)         Bonham Strand West;

(p)         Des Voeux Road West eastbound; and

(q)         Western Fire Services Street westbound.

 

Vehicles parked in carparks within the affected areas may not be permitted to enter or leave the car parks during the road closure period until the crowd is dispersed and the road closure is lifted.

 

Further adjustment to the above traffic arrangements may be made by the Police at the time depending on the actual conditions.

 

Motorists are advised to be patient when driving in the vicinity of the affected areas and follow Police’s instruction.  The public are advised to use public transport services as far as possible, avoid driving to the affected areas and watch out for the latest traffic news via media.
