TRAFFIC ADVICE

 

Special Traffic Arrangements for a Public Procession

on Hong Kong Island on 22 January 2017

 

Members of the public are advised that to facilitate a public procession to be held on Hong Kong Island on 22 January 2017 (Sunday), intermittent traffic lane closure of the following roads to all vehicular traffic will be implemented by the Police from about 10.00 am onwards until the crowd is dispersed and traffic resumes normal:

 

(a)         Sai Ning Street eastbound;

(b)         Victoria Road eastbound;

(c)         Cadogan Street northbound;

(d)         New Praya Kennedy Town eastbound;

(e)         Shing Sai Road eastbound;

(f)          Connaught Road West eastbound;

(g)         Ka On Street southbound;

(h)         Des Voeux Road West eastbound;

(i)          Chung King Road northbound;

(j)          Chung Kong Road eastbound;

(k)         Rumsey Street eastbound;

(l)          Man Kwong Street eastbound;

(m)        Legislative Council Road southbound;

(n)         Lung Wui Road eastbound;

(o)         Fenwick Pier Street eastbound;

(p)         Convention Avenue eastbound;

(q)         Expo Drive northbound;

(r)          Expo Drive Central eastbound;

(s)         Expo Drive East southbound;

(t)          Hung Hing Road eastbound;

(u)         Wan Shing Street southbound; 

(v)         Victoria Park Road eastbound;

(w)        Gordon Road eastbound;

(x)         Electric Road eastbound;

(y)         Java Road eastbound;

(z)         Shu Kuk Street northbound;

(aa)      Harbour Parade eastbound;

(bb)      Kam Hong Street southbound; and

(cc)      Hoi Yu Street northbound.

 

Vehicles parked in carparks within the affected areas may not be permitted to enter or leave the carparks during the road closure period until the crowd is dispersed and the road closure is lifted.

 

Further adjustment to the above traffic arrangements may be made by the Police at the time depending on the actual conditions.

 

Motorists are advised to be patient when driving in the vicinity of the affected areas and follow Police’s instruction.  The public are advised to use public transport services as far as possible, avoid driving to the affected areas and watch out for the latest traffic news via media.
