Intermittent Closure of Cycle Track in Sha Tin and Ma On Shan

to facilitate 2016/2017 New Territories Walk

 

Members of the public are advised that in order to facilitate 2016/2017 New Territories Walk, the following sections of cycle track in Sha Tin and Ma On Shan will be intermittently closed from 7.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on 26 February 2017 (Sunday):

 

(a)     the cycle track along Ma On Shan Promenade between Horizon Suite and the junction between On Chun Street and On Chiu Street;

(b)     the cycle track along unnamed bridge beside Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works;

(c)     the cycle track between the Hong Kong Jockey Club Stables and Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works;

(d)     the cycle track along Shui Chong Street between the Hong Kong Jockey Club Stables and the footbridge across Tolo Highway near Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works; and

(e)     the cycle track along Tolo Highway northbound between the footbridge across Tolo Highway near Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works and University Station.

 

During the closure of the above cycle tracks, cyclists are required to dismount upon entering the above mentioned cycle track.  Cyclists may also use the following cycle track to travel between Sha Tin and Ma On Shan:

 

(i)      the cycle track along the Banyan Bridge and southern riverside of Shing Mun River Channel.

 

Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide the cyclists and pedestrians.  Implementation of and adjustments to cycle track closure and traffic control will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the area.
