New Parking Meter System Trial Scheme -
The First Phase of Field Trial in Mong Kok Completed

        Motorists are advised that the first phase of field trial of the New Parking Meter System Trial Scheme ("the Trial Scheme") at Tung Choi Street and Sai Yeung Choi Street South of Mong Kok will be completed at midnight on 27 July 2017 (Thursday).

        Existing parking meters accepting Octopus payment only will be reinstated in the aforementioned areas, and in operation from 8 a.m. on 28 July 2017 onwards.

        The hours of operation of the parking meters at the locations concerned are from 8 a.m. to midnight on Mondays to Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on general holidays.  Appropriate traffic signs have been erected on site to guide motorists.

        The field trial of the Trial Scheme is implemented in two phases with each phase lasting for about 9 months, aiming to assess the new features and functions to be adopted in a new generation of parking meters.  The first phase of field trial was launched in Yuen Long and Mong Kok in October 2016.  The second phase of field trail will be launched in Sai Kung and Wan Chai whereas the details of which will be finalized later.
