TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Kwun Tong

      Notice is hereby given that to facilitate footbridge erection works at Hip Wo Street, the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Kwun Tong from 1.00 am to 5.30 am on 6 and 20 August 2017:-

I. Temporary Traffic Arrangement

A. Road Closure

All lanes of Hip Wo Street both bounds near its junction with Mut Wah Street will be temporary closed.

B. Traffic Diversion

During the above road closure:

(a) Affected vehicles on Hip Wo Street southbound heading for Park Metropolitan and Tung Yan Street will be diverted via Tsui Ping Road southbound, Lei Yue Mun Road eastbound, Wai Fat Road southbound, Cha Kwo Ling Road northbound, Lei Yue Mun Road westbound, Kwun Tong Road westbound and Kwun Tong Road Roundabout;
(b) Affected vehicles on Hip Wo Street northbound heading for Wo Lok Estate will be diverted via Tung Yan Street southbound, Yue Man Square westbound, Hong Ning Road northbound and Mut Wah Street;
(c) Affected vehicles on Mut Wah Street southbound heading for Park Metropolitan and Tung Yan Street will be diverted via Hip Wo Street northbound, Tsui Ping Road southbound, Lei Yue Mun Road eastbound, Wai Fat Road southbound, Cha Kwo Ling Road northbound, Lei Yue Mun Road westbound, Kwun Tong Road westbound and Kwun Tong Road Roundabout.

II. Temporary Transport Arrangement

Bus Diversion

KMB route no. N293 (Mong Kok East bound) will be diverted via Tsui Ping Road southbound, Lei Yue Mun Road eastbound, Wai Fat Road southbound, Cha Kwo Ling Road northbound, Lei Yue Mun Road westbound, Kwun Tong Road westbound, Kwun Tong Road Roundabout, Hip Wo Street northbound, Tung Yan Street southbound and Yue Man Square westbound before resuming the original routeing.  The existing bus stop of the above route outside Wo Lok Estate will be suspended.  A temporary bus stop will be provided at Tsui Ping Road southbound opposite to Po Pui Court.

GMB Diversion

New Territories GMB route no. 19S (Wan Chai bound) will be diverted via Tsui Ping Road southbound, Lei Yue Mun Road eastbound, U-turn (near Wai Fat Road), Lei Yue Mun Road westbound, Kwun Tong Road westbound, Kwun Tong Road Roundabout, Hip Wo Street northbound, Tung Yan Street southbound Kwun Tong Road eastbound, Kwun Tong Road Roundabout and Hip Wo Street southbound before resuming the original routeing.  The existing GMB stops of the above route at Wo Lok Estate, Yuet Wah Street Playground and Tung Yan Street will be suspended.  Temporary GMB stops will be provided at Tsui Ping Commercial Complex and Tung Yan Street Temporary Public Light Bus Terminus.

New Territories GMB route no. 19S (Hang Hau bound) will be diverted via Tung Yan Street southbound, Yue Man Square westbound, Hong Ning Road northbound, Mut Wah Street eastbound and Hip Wo Street northbound before resuming the original routeing.

Kowloon GMB route no. 62S (Lam Tin bound) will be diverted via Elegance Road southbound, Kwun Tong Road eastbound, Kwun Tong Road Roundabout and Hip Wo Street northbound before resuming the original routeing.  The existing GMB stops of the above route at Lotus Tower and Horse Shoe Lane will be suspended.  Temporary GMB stops will be provided at Ting Fu Street and opposite to Millennium City.

      Actual implementation of the road closures, traffic control and public transport diversions will be made by the authorities at the time depending on the prevailing circumstances, traffic and crowd conditions in the areas.  Notices will be put up by public transport operators to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements.  The passengers should pay attention to the arrangements of route diversions and suspension of stops.
