ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (Chapter 374)

Temporary Speed Limit in Kowloon City

      In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 12 August 2017 to 28 February 2018, the following road sections in Kowloon City will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour:

(a)  the section of Prince Edward Road East eastbound from a point about 50 metres east of its junction with Choi Hung Road to a point about 770 metres east of the same junction;

(b)  the section of flyover linking Ma Tau Chung Road northbound and Prince Edward Road East eastbound from a point about 150 metres west of its junction with Choi Hung Road to a point about 50 metres east of the same junction; and

(c)  the section of Prince Edward Road East westbound from its junction with the ramp linking Kwun Tong By-pass (Lei Yue Mun bound) and Prince Edward Road East westbound to a point about 50 metres west of its junction with King Tai Street.

      Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.

      At the same time, the existing speed limit of 70 kilometres per hour on the above road sections will be temporarily rescinded.
