"Stop-and-go" e-Payment Service at Aberdeen Tunnel

Motorists are advised that the "stop-and-go" e-Payment System will be provided at the manual toll booths of Aberdeen Tunnel from September 24 (Sunday) to provide motorists with an additional and convenient means of toll payment.  The manual toll booths will accept toll payments by Octopus and contactless credit cards (including Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay) issued by local banks.  It provides motorists with additional and convenient means of toll payments, saving time from cash counting and changing.

Two sets of card reader panels will be installed at each manual toll booth to facilitate vehicles of different heights.  The card reader on the left of each panel accepts Octopus card payment and the right one accepts contactless credit cards.  Cash payment is still accepted if the motorists cannot pay toll successfully by tapping their cards.

Aberdeen Tunnel is the second tunnel implementing the "stop-and-go" e-Payment System after its first launch at Shing Mun Tunnels.  The TD will introduce the e-Payment System in phases at the other government tolled tunnels and roads, and will make separate announcements before the implementation.

Motorists can browse the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk) or call 1823 for enquiries on the operation of "stop-and-go" e-payment system.
