ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

Restricted Zones in Mong Kok

     In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 6 October 2017, the following road sections in Mong Kok will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:-

(a) the northern kerbside lane of Soy Street from its junction with Tak Cheong Street to a point about 15 metres east of the same junction;

(b) the southern kerbside lane of Soy Street from its junction with Tak Cheong Street to a point about 5 metres east of the same junction;

(c) the northern kerbside lane of Soy Street from its junction with Kam Lam Street to a point about 5 metres west of the same junction;

(d) the southern kerbside lane of Soy Street from its junction with Kam Fong Street to a point about 10 metres west of the same junction;

(e) the western kerbside lane of Tak Cheong Street from its junction with Soy Street to a point about 20 metres south of the same junction;

(f) the eastern kerbside lane of Tak Cheong Street from its junction with Soy Street to a point about 10 metres south of the same junction;

(g) the section of Kam Lam Street from its junction with Soy Street to a point about 10 metres north of the same junction; and

(h) the section of Kam Fong Street from its junction with Soy Street to a point about 10 metres south of the same junction.

     Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a) picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b) loading or unloading goods.

     The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

     At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
