ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

Restricted Zones in North Point

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 10 November 2017, the following road sections will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:

(a)  the section of Java Road from a point about 35 metres west of its junction with Kam Hong Street to a point about 35 metres east of the same junction;

(b)  the section of Kam Hong Street from a point about 20 metres north of its junction with Java Road to a point about 30 metres south of the same junction;

(c)  the northern kerbside lane of Java Road from a point about 35 metres west of its junction with Shu Kuk Street to a point about 35 metres east of the same junction;

(d)  the eastern kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street from its junction with Java Road to a point about 35 metres north of the same junction;

(e)  the western kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street between Java Road and North Point Estate Lane; and

(f)  the southern kerbside lane of North Point Estate Lane from its junction with Shu Kuk Street to a point about 15 metres west of the same junction.

        Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a)  picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)  loading or unloading goods.

        The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

        At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
