Temporary Traffic Arrangements

for Tram Track Renewal Works in Eastern District

                                                                                                       

Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the tram track renewal works in Eastern District, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented from about 10.00 am on 4 December 2017 to 10.00 pm on 8 December 2017 or until the above works is completed:

 

(A)       Traffic Lane Closure

The following traffic lanes will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:

(i)         the nearside lane of Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound from a point about 40 metres west of its junction with Hoi An Street to a point about 20 metres east of the same junction (except trams); and

(ii)        the nearside lane of Hoi An Street from its junction with Shau Kei Wan Road to a point about 30 metres north of the same junction.

 

(B)       Banning of Turning Movement

All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from turning left from Hoi An Street onto Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound.

(C)       Traffic Diversions

(i)        Vehicles on Hing Man Street eastbound heading for Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound will be diverted via Hing Man Street southbound; and

(ii)       Vehicles on Hoi An Street heading for Shau Kei Wan Road eastbound will be diverted via Sai Wan Ho Street westbound, Hoi Ning Street northbound, Hing Man Street eastbound and Hing Man Street southbound.

 

Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists.  The Transport Department anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of Hoi An Street and Shau Kei Wan Road would be relatively congested during the above works period.  Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion. Members of the public are advised to plan their journey early and allow sufficient traveling time to cater for unexpected delay, and watch out for the latest traffic news through media.
