Temporary Learner Drivers Prohibited Zones on Austin Road West
and Lin Cheung Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

     In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations (Cap. 374 sub. leg. G), I hereby direct that with effect from 5:30 a.m. on 17 December 2017 to 31 March 2018, the following sections of roads will be temporarily designated as learner drivers prohibited zones 24 hours daily. -

     (a) Austin Road West eastbound from its junction with Nga Cheung Road Flyover, via Austin Road West underpass, to a point about 65 metres west of its junction with Canton Road;
     (b) From a point about 100 metres west of the junction of Austin Road West westbound and Canton Road, via Austin Road West underpass, to its junction with Nga Cheung Road Flyover; 
     (c) From Austin Road West underpass westbound to Lin Cheung Road underpass northbound; and 
     (d) From Lin Cheung Road underpass southbound to Austin Road West underpass eastbound.
 Learner drivers, except those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from driving any vehicles into the prohibited zone 24 hours daily.

     The extent of the prohibited zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs. 

     At the same time, the designation of prohibited zones on the above mentioned road sections, as gazetted on 15 September 2017 under G.N. 7000 will be rescinded.
