"Peng Chau/ Trappist Monastery – Discovery Bay" Kaito Ferry Service

           Member of the public are advised that, due to the existing operator of "Peng Chau/ Trappist Monastery – Discovery Bay" kaito ferry services (the "Kaito Ferry Service") had confirmed that they will return the Kaito Ferry Service licence to Transport Department and cease the kaito ferry service from 7 July 2022, the Transport Department had invited tenders for the Kaito Ferry Service in March 2022 to select an operator for the Kaito Ferry Service. The Transport Department announced that new Kaito Ferry Service licence is granted to Blue Sea Ferry Company Limited.

           The Kaito Ferry Service licence will commence on 7 July 2022. As to the service level of the Kaito Ferry Service to be provided under the new licence, apart from maintaining the existing service level, the operator will operate additional departures, including the departures of 7.20 a.m. (from Peng Chau to Discovery Bay) and 5 p.m. (from Discovery Bay to Peng Chau) from Mondays to Saturdays, and departures of 8.45 p.m. (from Peng Chau to Discovery Bay) and 9 p.m. (from Discovery Bay to Peng Chau) from Mondays to Fridays. The service will be further enhanced subject to the passenger demand. As to the fares, the operator will charge an adult single journey fare of $7.5, and offer a new concessionary fare to child, $6.0 will be charged for child aged 6 to below 11 and free of charge for child aged 1 to below 6. $6.0 will be charged for each pet or bicycle.

            Appropriate notices will be put up by the operator at relevant piers to inform passengers of the details of the operating arrangements of the Kaito Ferry Service.
