Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau, Yuen Long

  Notice is hereby given that, to facilitate the Kwu Tung North New Development Area works, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from 6:00 p.m. on 22 June 2023 to 6:00 a.m. on 21 June 2024:

(I) Temporary Closure of Carriageway, Cycle Track and Footpath

  The carriageway, cycle track and footpath on the section of Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau (both bounds) from about 150 metres west of its junction with the flyover connecting with Kwu Tung Road to about 135 metres east of the same junction, and the slip road connecting the flyover and Fanling Highway (Sheung Shui bound) will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic, cyclists and pedestrians.

(II) Temporary Traffic Diversion

1.  Affected drivers on Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau (both bounds) will be diverted via the temporary road; and

2.  Affected drivers on the slip road connecting the flyover and Fanling Highway (Sheung Shui bound) will be diverted via the temporary road.

(III) Temporary Cycle Track and Footpath Arrangements

  Affected cyclists and pedestrians on Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau (both bounds) near the Chau Tau Substation will be diverted via the temporary crossing.

(IV) Temporary Transport Arrangements

1.  The Sheung Shui bound of KMB route no. 76K (Sheung Shui (Ching Ho) – Yuen Long (Long Ping)) will be diverted via the temporary road from Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau near the Chau Tau Substation before resuming its normal routeing. Its en-route stops remain unchanged.

2.  The both bounds of the New Territories Green Minibus Route No. 605 (Ki Lun Tsuen – Sheung Shui Station) will be diverted via the temporary road from the flyover connecting Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau and Kwu Tung Road before resuming its normal routeing. Its en-route stops remain unchanged.

  Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide the motorists. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care. For the safety of road users, cyclists are required to dismount upon entering or leaving the above cycle track.
