ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (Chapter 374)
Temporary Speed Limit on North Lantau Highway, Lantau Island
In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 7.30 p.m. on 7 June 2025 to 11.30 a.m. on 8 June 2025, the following road sections will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as described below:-
- The section of North Lantau Highway westbound from a point about 1200 metres east of its junction with Shun Long Road westbound to a point about 400 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour;
- the section of North Lantau Highway westbound from a point about 400 metres east of its junction with Shun Long Road westbound to a point about 1100 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour;
- the section of North Lantau Highway eastbound from a point about 500 metres west of its junction with Shun Long Road eastbound to a point about 300 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour; and
- the section of North Lantau Highway eastbound from a point about 300 metres east of its junction with Shun Long Road eastbound to a point about 2000 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.
At the same time, the existing speed limit on the above road sections will be temporarily rescinded.
