TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Temporary Traffic Arrangements in Sheung Wan
Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the tram track renewal works, the following temporary traffic arrangements in Sheung Wan will be implemented from 12.30 am to 5.30 am daily on 6 and 7 June 2025:-
A. Road Closure
The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic (except trams):-
(i) The service road of Connaught Road Central eastbound between Morrison Street and Cleverly Street;
(ii) The service road of Connaught Road Central westbound between Hillier Street and Morrison Street; and
(iii) The service road of Connaught Road Central westbound between Man Wa Lane and Hillier Street.
B. Banning of Turning Movement
(i) Vehicles on Morrison Street northbound will be prohibited from making right turn onto the service road of Connaught Road Central eastbound; and
(ii) Vehicles on Hillier Street northbound will be prohibited from making left turn onto the service road of Connaught Road Central westbound.
C. Traffic Diversion
(i) Vehicles on Morrison Street northbound heading for Des Voeux Road Central eastbound will be diverted via the service road of Connaught Road West westbound, Wing Lok Street eastbound, Bonham Strand eastbound and Morrison Street northbound;
(ii) Vehicles on the service road of Connaught Road Central westbound heading for Cleverly Street southbound will be diverted via Rumsey Street southbound and Wing Lok Street westbound;
(iii) Vehicles on the service road of Connaught Road Central westbound heading for Des Voeux Road Central eastbound will be diverted via Rumsey Street southbound, Wing Lok Street westbound and Morrison Street northbound;
(iv) Vehicles on the service road of Connaught Road Central westbound heading for the service road of Connaught Road West westbound will be diverted via Rumsey Street southbound, Wing Lok Street westbound and Morrison Street northbound; and
(v) Vehicles on Hillier Street northbound heading for the service road of Connaught Road West westbound will be diverted via Bonham Strand westbound and Morrison Street northbound.
Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists.
