TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Central

        Notice is hereby given that to facilitate works, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Central from 3.00 am on 29 March 2026 to 3.00 am on 30 March 2026:

A.     Road Closure

The following road sections and traffic lanes will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:

1. 1. 1. The section of Chater Road between Pedder Street and Jackson Road;
      2. The section of Ice House Street between Connaught Road Central and Des Voeux Road Central;
      3. The right lane of Ice House Street near Des Voeux Road Central; and
      4. The rightmost lane of Pedder Street near Des Voeux Road Central.

B.     Traffic Diversion

1. 1. 1. Affected vehicles on Des Voeux Road Central eastbound or Pedder Street or Ice House Street heading for Chater Road will be diverted via Des Voeux Road Central eastbound, Queen's Road Central eastbound, Queensway eastbound, Tamar Street northbound, Harcourt Road westbound, Cotton Tree Drive southbound, U-Turn, Cotton Tree Drive northbound and Lambeth Walk; and
      2. Affected vehicles on Connaught Road Central westbound heading for Chater Road will be diverted via Connaught Road Central eastbound, Harcourt Road eastbound, Cotton Tree Drive southbound, U-Turn, Cotton Tree Drive northbound and Lambeth Walk.

C.     Suspension of Taxi Stands

The urban and cross harbour taxi stands on Chater Road outside Alexandra House will be temporarily suspended.

        Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on-site to guide motorists.
