Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations (Chapter 374)

Restricted Zones in Tsuen Wan

          In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 28 June 2010, the following road sections in Tsuen Wan will be designated restricted zones from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm daily: 

• (a) the southern kerbside lane of Castle Peak Road (Tsuen Wan) between Chung On Street and Tai Ho Road;
• (b) the southern kerbside lane of Castle Peak Road (Tsuen Wan) from its junction with Tai Ho Road to a point about 465 metres west of the same junction;
• (c) the eastern kerbside lane of Tai Ho Road between Castle Peak Road (Tsuen Wan) and Tsuen Wan Market Street; and
• (d) the northern kerbside lane of Tsuen Wan Market Street from its junction with Tai Ho Road to a point about 20 metres east of the same junction.

          Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses at designated bus stops and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

• (a) picking up or setting down passengers; or
• (b) loading or unloading goods

          The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

          At the same time, the existing restricted zones from 8.00 am to 10.00 am and from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm daily on the above road sections will be rescinded.
