Green minibuses (GMBs) operate on fixed routes at fixed fares. In March 2012, there were 72 GMB routes on Hong Kong Island, 79 in Kowloon and 200 in the New Territories, employing a total of 3 071 vehicles. In year 2011, GMBs carried about 1,529,000 passengers daily.
